So let the sunshine in, face it with a grin. Smilers never lose and frowners never win. Yes, that song, written by Stuart Hamblen, was embedded in my brain as a child by Grandma. LOL. Isn’t the sun wonderful?! We almost forgot what it looked like here in Virginia. We have been getting spoiled by the sun’s appearance the past couple of days! All of the rain and overcast skies could kind of get to you after a while. I was afraid last weekend’s yard saling adventures were going to be a total washout, but fortunately all it took was one man’s indoor yard sale to keep my vintage taste buds wet! I braved the ‘hoarderish’ conditions (yes, I just created that word) to rescue the best of the best for my Vintage Potential customers! He seemed to have quite the collection of lamps. So today’s sale is brought to you by the vintage item–lamp! LOL. If you are in need of a light, a great vintage lamp to add that touch of character to a room, I gotcha covered! Today’s sale also has some great dishware and the most adorable box of Christmas ornaments you’ve ever seen! Why am I still talking? Hurry and claim your vintage treasure!
And you know I have to say this spiel for each sale. So just pretend I’m saying it obnoxiously fast before the commercial ends.
The items will only be available for sale for one week. It is my goal to move inventory quickly and provide treasures with prices lower than your typical vintage/antique dealer. Please remember the items for sale are used…hence vintage! It is my job to provide you with your dream project. All sales are final. All sales are on a first come, first served basis. I am located in Virginia. When possible, I hope to be able to make arrangements for free local delivery. But if the shipment method is chosen, the cost to ship will be added to the total price. If you would like to purchase an item, e-mail me at email@example.com. Then we can discuss payment and delivery arrangements. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
MILK GLASS ROSE LAMP $10
This elegant milk glass lamp is so beautiful. It is in working condition. It’s really in great shape for its age. The new owner will have to provide a shade. It measures around 12 inches tall (not including a shade) and has a base of 6 1/2 inches in diameter. It is the perfect size to accent a small table.
SET OF TEAL DISHES W/ GOLD ACCENT: 5 SALAD, 5 DESSERT, 1 SAUCER $10
Ok. I have debated whether to sell these dishes. They are teal, so you can imagine my dilemma! LOL. If they are not purchased, they are staying with me! This set consists of 5 salad plates, 5 dessert plates, and 1 saucer. The salad plates measure 7 inches in diameter. The dessert plates and saucer measure 6 inches in diameter. There are no major chips or cracks in these plates. The set could be used to serve small desserts or even used as wall decoration.
MILK GLASS CANDY DISH $12
If you are a white/milk glass collector, this candy dish is for you! The piece is absolutely ‘gorge’! It is in great shape with no chips or cracks. It is 6 1/2 inches tall and around 4 inches in diameter. I know this will go fast.
HAND PAINTED LAMP $15
This is by far my favorite of this week’s lamp inventory! The base of the lamp is hand painted. The new owner will have to provide a shade. It has a night light feature. You can either light the base of the lamp, the top, or both at the same time. The base of the lamp is around 5 inches in diameter. With the socket it measures around 8 inches tall. I luv it!
MINIATURE BOX SHINY BRITE ORNAMENTS $8
I love all things vintage. And you know I love Christmas! Put both of these amazing things together, and you get this awesome box of miniature Shiny Brite ornaments! The box itself measures 6 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches. The ornaments themselves are around an inch in diameter. This set came from a 93-year-old’s attic. You know your grandma’s ornaments are always the best!
MILK GLASS PITCHER $5
This cubist design milk glass pitcher will be an adorable addition to your dinner table. It measures 3 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches from spout to handle. The pitcher is in great condition.
COCKER SPANIEL LAMP $8
This pup dates back to the 1950s. As you can see, he does have some surface wear from age. Some may want to adopt him as is, or he could even be painted. The new owner will also have to provide a lampshade. The lamp measures 12 inches tall (including the socket). This cocker spaniel will be a great addition to any animal lover’s home.
MILK GLASS COASTER/ASH TRAY $5
This unique piece of milk glass could function in many ways. I would probably use it to hold rings. It was originally used as either a coaster or ash tray. It measures 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The glass is in great condition.
SET OF TEAL DISHES W/ SILVER TRIM: 6 SALAD, 1 PLATTER $10
Yet another great set of teal dishes! Again, if you don’t snatch these up, they have already found a permanent home! LOL. The first set had gold accents, but this set is trimmed in silver. These plates are also adorned with tiny pink flowers. The salad plates measure 8 inches in diameter, and the platter measures around 12 inches in diameter. The plates are in good condition with no major flaws. All you have to do is make one inspirational trip to Pinterest, and you will know the many ways you can use these vintage plates.
MILK GLASS SPHERE LAMP $12
I have a lamp for everybody on here today! The last piece in today’s sale inventory is another great milk glass lamp. This lamp comes with a frosted glass globe, but I believe it is meant to also have a shade that fits over the globe. Now the new owner can choose whether he or she wants to use it as is or take the globe off and just attach a shade that directly fits onto the light bulb. There is one blemish that can be turned to the backside, but most would not even see it unless you pointed it out. One of the little hobnail balls is chipped on the backside of the base. But as your personal vintage picker, it is my job to inform you of any flaws. The lamp is in overall good shape. It measures around 18 inches from the base to the top of the glass globe.
Please enjoy a few more items I picked up from the past weekend. I’m going to have to hold on to these goodies for now though!
ITEMS NFS = NOT FOR SALE
PINK DEPRESSION GLASS BOWL
If you are a pink depression glass lover…I am sorry, but my mom gets first dibs on the depression glass. It’s just a perk she gets for being Mama. But don’t loose hope, maybe one day she will be able to part with a piece! LOLs. The little bowl was in great condition. It will be beautiful on our holiday dinner table.
GLASS DOG FIGURINE
Those of you who know me personally may remember me sharing photos of my beloved dog, Snickers, over the years. Unfortunately, he lost his courageous battle to cancer a few months ago. I still miss him dearly. When I came across this glass figurine, I had to purchase it in his memory.
Another great Christmas record by Robert Goulet to add to my vinyl collection.
Speaking of Christmas, how great is this little snowman jar? I can already see him filled with holiday candies or little ornaments. As usual, the possibilities are endless!
PINK DEPRESSION GLASS CANDLESTICK
It is pretty great to find two pieces of pink depression glass in the same morning. Mama was very happy! This candlestick holder is in great condition. Of course, you would like to find a complete set, but I’m sure I’ll come across another one. This piece too is in excellent shape.
And last but certainly not least, this little plastic squirrel just caught my eye. Even though he is of no great value, you can’t deny his cuteness!
